Dolphins Running Back Frank Gore Fixed on Positives Despite Patriots Defeat

Miami Dolphins running back Frank Gore is fixed on the positives despite a heavy loss in New England.

Gore has been one of the many impressive players for the Dolphins in the early parts of this NFL season, helping his team go 3-1 after four games. The Dolphins won their first three, but they head to Cincinnati next week on the back of their first loss, and indeed a heavy loss to the Patriots last time out.

However, running back Frank Gore is fixed on the positives despite that heavy defeat, hammering home the fact that after the first four games, the first quarter of the NFL season, the Dolphins are on top of the AFC East.

“I think I’ve had a good opportunity, I’ve tried my best and that’s all I can do but first quarter, we won the first quarter.

We finished 3-1. You always want to win, but that’s the NFL. Like I said, we won the first quarter and that’s a plus for us. We watched the film and we have got to correct the mistakes that we did. We have to go to work on Wednesday and try to get better.

We have to stay as one and believe that we are the good team that we are. You can only take it one game at a time. Like I said, we won the first quarter, now we move on to the second quarter and try our best to start out right in the second quarter and that starts in Cincinnati.” – Frank Gore

The Dolphins head to Cincinnati this weekend to take on the Bengals, who currently sit on top of the AFC North with a 3-1 record. It’s set to be an exciting encounter with both teams currently sporting identical 3-1 records as they prepare to do battle at the John Brown Stadium.

The Bengals have quietly gone about their business in the early stages of the season, going under the radar to sit on top of their conference after the first quarter. And they head into the weekend’s action on the back of a thrilling one-point win over the Falcons on the road.

It’s all set up to be a difficult challenge for the Dolphins as they prepare for their second consecutive road game, but it’s one they are looking forward to. Frank Gore concluded:

“The key is to start fast and take care of all the small things. That’s something the coach has always preached, to stay the course and do what we do.” – Frank Gore
