Entering week 10 of the NFL season, the Browns are hosting the Atlanta Falcons. Baker and the Browns are looking to break their current losing streak, while the Falcons are trying to maintain their win streak. The Cleveland Browns will be looking to take their positive performance from last week, and improve upon it.
The Browns were coming off their first game with Gregg Williams in charge, the team showed growth from previous weeks. The offense, now being called by Freddie Kitchens, showed a lot of composure. Baker needs to continue with his high percentage throws and avoiding turnovers at all costs. Nick Chubb will be wanting to grow from his last performance, with a solid 85 yards from 22 carries. If Chubb begins to keep pushing near to, or above, 100-yard games it will take the pressure of Baker. Last weeks game highlighted the threat Johnson Jr is in the passing game. Johnson finished the game with 9 catches for 78 yards with two touchdowns, a threat we had not seen before.
The Browns defense could not stop the offense of the Chiefs, however, they need a bounce back this week. Myles Garrett leading the team with nine sacks on the season will be looking to apply pressure to Matt Ryan. Ryan has recently found his form with three incredibly versatile receivers in Jones, Ridley, and Sanu. The Browns secondary will have to be on high alert for the three receivers, preventing their deep ball threat. The Falcons run game took a hit at the beginning of the year, losing Devante Freeman. The Falcons have utilized Coleman and Smith in the backfield, but they’re missing that explosive threat. The Browns line and edges could shut down the run game, then the aim would be pressure Ryan to intimidate the passing game.
If The Browns taking their performance from last week another step further, it could ruin the Falcons win streak. The Browns are in need of a win, and what better way to do it than at home infant of their incredibly strong fan base.
