The Denver Broncos Stadium has a new name. For the 2018-2019 season, the home of the Broncos will now be called Broncos Stadium at Mile High. There’s been talk for the last couple years of a viable name for the stadium. Over the years the field in Denver has had many names. Some of these names have been Mile High Stadium, Invesco Field at Mile High, and most recently Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
This name for the stadium is temporary, however; as the Broncos are looking for a long-term name. This entails getting bids from companies who will want to purchase naming rights. In the last few years, there have been offers but none have been the right fit. Most of the offers have been from dispensary companies and that would not be a good image for the organization and for visiting fans to enjoy.
With the need for a long-term stadium name, what would be a viable option for this team? Many fans have been crying out for the team to stop taking in bids and looking for companies to purchase naming rights. Fans who remember the Broncos teams of old remember the old Mile High Stadium. I stand alongside many other fans who are dying for the organization to change the stadium name to Mile High Stadium and leave it at that. In fact, most fans think of it as Mile High and regardless of the name still call it Mile High. The best option for the Broncos for the future would be to rename the stadium to Mile High as an Ode to teams past and keep the history of this great football team alive for the new upcoming generations. Only time will tell what the future of the stadium will be.
Until next time, keep calm and Bronco On!
