Broncos Wide Right, Late Game Heroics for Nothing

Well, the Broncos are 3-6 and heading into a much-needed bye week. Denver faced off against the Texans in Demaryius’s first ever game in Denver as a Texan and wearing the #87 jersey. The Broncos had a chance to win the game and Brandon McManus missed a last-second field goal allowing the Texans to win their 6th straight game.

Despite the loss, after watching the game highlights, ( I didn’t get the game on tv), I saw some positives surrounding the negatives of the game. The best thing I saw from the game highlights was the receiving corps stepped up in the wake of Thomas being traded. The biggest people to have stepped up for the team was Jeff Heuerman.

Heuerman had 10 catches for 83 yards and a touchdown. Also impressing in the game highlights was Courtland Sutton who now takes Thomas’s place as the pairing to Emmanuel Sanders. Sutton had three catches for 57 yards, with his longest catch going for 22 yards. Another honorable mention is once again fellow rookie Phillip Lindsay. Lindsay is always making plays across the field. He had 60 yards rushing on the ground and 24 yards in the air as well.

Even though the Broncos lost and are currently sitting at 3-6, there is still time for the team to improve. I’m not saying the Broncos will win the division or even make the playoffs in any way, however, there can still be improvements made on this season.

There’s been rumors swirling around that Vance Joseph could be on his final straw with the organization. It seems that despite all the talent on the team, the leadership is the problem. The coaching staff needs a change. The defense isn’t what it used to be and the head coaching has been mediocre and laughable so far this season. I’m finally on the “Vance Joseph needs to go” bandwagon.

With the bye week officially started, the changes need to be made to right this ship. It will be interesting to see what sort of things are fixed and redone within the Broncos team and organization.

Until next time, Keep Calm and Bronco On!

My passion is the NFL. Particularly the Denver Broncos. I was born into a Broncos family and have followed them since I was 3 years old when I met John Elway. I have made football and the Broncos a large part of my life. I love everything about the game.
