Odell Beckham

Browns Make a Big Splash With a Huge Fish

There comes a time in your life when you have to be willing to admit when you are wrong. HOLY CRAP was I dead wrong. Last week I wrote an article for Profootballtalkline.com saying Odell Beckham is not leaving the Giants, they did not pay him to trade him. Well the Browns just traded for Beckham and he’s heading to Cleveland and I’m eating crow.

I’m sure we can all agree Beckham is worth more than the 17th overall pick. But to only add in a third and safety that has been underwhelming since joining the league in 2017, the Browns easily won this trade.

The is huge for the northern Ohio team that may end up being the favorite to win the AFC North. Last season they drafted their star quarterback Baker Mayfield with the first overall pick last season, along with second-round pick Nick Chubb. Last season they also signed Bless’em Jarvis Landry to a five-year contract. Oh, and did I mention they signed Kareem Hunt last month and now they have one of the best wide receivers playing the game today.

Last season the Browns offense jumped from averaging 21 points a game to almost 24 after the firing of head coach Hue Jackson and offensive coordinator Todd Haley. And now they are adding Odell Beckham to the mix. Last season the finished the season at 7-8-1, their best finish since going 7-9 in 2014. Last season they also lost four games by a field goal or less not to mention their tied game with the Steelers to start the season. If you are a Browns fan you have to be excited about this new addition to what was already looking like a scary offense.

If it ain’t football news, is it worth reading?
