It’s the playoffs man! For each game you have to look at the matchups and figure our which ones are the most important, which ones your team has to win and the other team has to overcome. You also need accurate status on critical players. How are they playing? What’s their overall health like? Etc.
With the New England Patriots in next weekends AFC Championship Game (again) there is really only one matchup and one player to dwell on. How is Tom Brady and what can Denver do to stop him? The answers are he’s doing and playing great and there probably isn’t much Denver can do to stop him. Brady is on top of his game and has weapons to work with. That’s a deadly combination.
In last weeks matchup the Chiefs defense showed excellent “get off” giving Brady very little time to throw. He didn’t need it. Josh McDaniel dialed up the perfect offense to counter the fierce pressure and Brady executed the short passing game to perfection, dinking and dunking while frustrating defenders, refusing them a sack for the entire contest.
Make no mistake about it. Brady is like every other player in the NFL at this point of the season. He’s got bumps and bruises. But when your QB is showing his trademark agile feet, fast decision making, quick release and accuracy he’s known for you’ve got to feel pretty good if you’re a Pats fan and not so good if you’re Wade Phillips trying to come up with a game plan.
