Buccaneers Post Game Positives

Buccaneers Post Game

Three Guys to Watch Going Forward

What’s up sports friends.  I’m back, with what some might say is the hardest job in sports, a post-game write-up after a loss.  It is easy to get down after a loss but let me point out some guys that really popped in this game that we can keep an eye on going forward.

Tight End OJ Howard:  #80 is really starting to live up to the hype.  He had 4 catches for 53 yards and 2 touchdowns.  He looked like an absolute beast doing it too, it seems like he can get open at will.  On the season he has 48 catches for 572 yards and 5 touchdowns and has scored in back to back weeks and 3 of the last 4 games.  He is a second-year player.

Wide Receiver Adam Humphries:  #10 is by name a 4th string wide receiver but in actuality, he plays more snaps than both DeSean Jackson and Chris Godwin.  Mike Evans, the “superstar” wide receiver of this group took the day off.  Well, that’s not true he played but perhaps he should have.  He looked bad but Adam Humphries, on the other hand, was ready this game, he had 8 catches for 82 yards with 2 touchdowns and also contributed 7 yards on one rush attempt.  On the season he has 35 catches for 378 yards and 2 touchdowns. He is also a second-year player with the arrow pointing up.

Lastly, I’d like to point out quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick played a pretty good game.  He threw 4 touchdowns while completing 24-40 passes for 243 yards.  And he did that with next to no help from his two stud receivers.  Evans caught 1 of 10 targets for 16 yards and Jackson caught 2 passes for 32 yards!  At one point in the third quarter, it really felt like momentum had shifted to the Buccaneers favor and they could come back and beat Carolina, that is the Fitzmagic.  So cheer up Bucs fans, there are better days on the horizon.
