49ers Pre Game – California Contest vs Rams

Last Monday night was a tough loss for the 49ers in Green Bay. And you can tell me all the “Yeah But’s” you want about the Packers this season, it is never easy to win in Lambeau Field when Aaron Rodgers is under center. And yet, the 49ers were just a couple plays away from doing just that, when everyone said this game would be a blowout. The team went toe-to-toe with the Packers and even though they lost, I’ll take the moral victories from that game.

But that was then and this now. The now is this Sunday when the 49ers take on the still undefeated Los Angeles Rams. Can they win this game? Absolutely, they can win this game, “Any Given Sunday” right? But will they win this game? Left tackle Joe Staley thinks so.

Who would have thought the Bills would have beaten the Vikings in Minnesota. Not me, I picked the Vikings in a pick’em game. It’s a tall order, we know, but the defense did play better last Monday against the Packers and just fell short. The Rams will be without star wide receiver Cooper Kupp but they have so many other weapons. The key to beating the Rams will be the same recipe for beating the Packers.

Move the ball. The Rams have given up almost 400 yards off offense the last three games and keeping up with them point for point will have to happen. And the Rams have given up over 27 points the last three games. In fact, the only team that could not move the ball or score on the Rams defense was the Cardinals. And they have issues of their own, in fact, they just fired their offensive coordinator Mike McCoy. The Point is the 49ers can move the ball and if they can keep the Rams offense off the field, a W is possible.

I am going to root my heart out for this team on Sunday. And if they lose it’s ok, remember Red and Gold until I’m dead and cold. But also remember “Any Given Sunday”

If it ain’t football news, is it worth reading?
