The Ministry of Finance of the Community of Madrid, chaired by Isabel Díaz Ayuso, has decided to expand the call for aid to companies and freelancers affected by the Covid-19 health crisis, including new sectors and extending the deadline to request them, with the aim to reach more SMEs and freelancers who are experiencing economic difficulties in the face of the pandemic.

The Governing Council approved including a total of 56 additional sectors, among which are car dealers, beverage manufacturers, machinery manufacturers, wholesale trade, transporters, moving services, nursery schools or advertising agencies, among others. To do this, the green light has been given to extend the deadline to formalize the aid application, and which will now remain open until July 31 through the website of the Community of Madrid .

The new sectors bring together more than 156,000 companies that employ almost 458,000 people in the region. The amount of the aid ranges from 3,000 euros to 200,000 euros.

The Community of Madrid has been the first region that has begun to pay aid to companies and freelancers that are suffering the consequences of Covid-19.

The call for aid from the Community approved in April by the regional Executive already included 25 more sectors than those included in the Royal Decree of the Central Government, such as hairdressers and beauty centers, among others. With the inclusion of the new areas of activity, the regional government reaches 176 sectors together in its call for aid, compared to the 95 contemplated by the Royal Decree.

Likewise, the Community of Madrid is going to allocate 899.2 million, that is, 679 million of line financed by the Government of Spain plus the 220 million with own funds contributed by the regional Executive to compensate the sectors.
