Backing Up the Chargers

The Chargers first preseason was filled with backups. In quarterback Cardale Jones, out Philip Rivers. Wide receiver Keenan Allen and defensive end Joey Bosa also would watch from the sidelines.

Charger Backups

Geno Smith would have the greater game. Smith looked strong and showed no signs of rust.  Smith would also throw a 47-yard bomb. Charger running back  Austin Ekeler would also have a decent game and finished with 64 yards. One long rush of 39 yards. The Chargers did take the lead late in the game only to have it snatched and lose 24-17. The Charger fan base sported royal blue all through the stands of UOP Stadium.

Josh Rosen did start for the Cardinals. He would look average, Arizona coach Steve Wilks would get his first win in Cardinal red. Wilks could be the coach the Cardinals have been looking for some time. As far as for Josh Rosen it is far to early to examine.  Cardinal fans must be patient this season.

The Chargers will visit Seattle next week.
