Eagles Week 2 Preview - The Buccaneers

It's week 2 in the NFL and the Philadelphia Eagles are 1-0. This week the team roles into Tampa Bay to play the Buccaneers. Last week, Ryan Fitzpatrick, a.k.a #FitzMAGIC, had an amazing game against the Saints. Will he be able to repeat that performance against one of the best defenses in the league? Will Nick Foles get it together this week against a middle of the road defense? Let's break down every side of the ball and let you know what to look for in this game.

Philadelphia Eagles Offense

The offense was less than stellar in their victory over the Falcons last week. The difference maker was Jay Ajayi for the Eagles. With the possibility of rainy weather, Ajayi could wind up shouldering the load again. This game could be more of the same from what we saw in week one with the Foles/Zach Ertz and Foles/Nelson Agholor connection. Expect a lot of short passing to keep Foles in a rhythm and to get the ball out before that pass rush reaches him.

Philadelphia Eagles Defense

The defense is their bloodline until Carson Wentz returns from injury. Regardless of last week, Ryan Fitzpatrick will not repeat that MVP like performance that he had against the Saints. This game will be more of a struggle, especially if DeSean Jackson is out due to the concussion protocol.  Keep your eyes open for a few sacks from Michael Bennett and possibly even a pick by Sidney Jones as the Eagles defense will dominate this game.

Philadelphia Eagles Special Teams

The game-time temperature (at the moment) is supposed to be around 90 degrees with rain. This could mean that Jake Elliot has a bigger role if we have to turn to a ground and pound offense. Elliott needs to continue his perfect season and be accurate with his kicks. If Elliott begins to miss and the tide turns, the Buccaneers could pull off the upset and walk away 2-0 to start the season.

Eagles vs Buccaneers MVP

The MVP of this game is going to be Zach Ertz. This game has a 10 catch, 125 yards, 2 touchdown performance written all over it. Pair that with the fact that Foles has an obvious connection with Ertz and I believe he is a runaway for this award in this game.

From deep in the HEART of Philadelphia, we are swooping down on every bit of Eagles News. Stay tuned and #FlyEaglesFly
