Lions Shutout Packers at Lambeau

Today’s game was one of the most fun games to watch since the Lions played Green Bay earlier this year. This game may not have meant anything to the fans but a difference in a draft pick. But to these players, if you have a chance to sweep Green Bay, you take it. The Lions shutout the Packers in Lambeau 31-0. Matthew Stafford played his best game in quite some time today. That is what's been missing for this Lions team all season. Allowing Stafford to go out there and sling the ball as we all know he can.

Zach Zenner was able to run all over the Green Bay defense today. He racked up just shy of 100 yards on the ground today and had over 20 carries. Brandon Powell also contributed in a big way with over 100 yards receiving. TJ Jones also made a huge impact with his two touchdowns today. But the play of the game was the Matt Prater fake field goal pass for a touchdown. That's when it seemed like the Lions were going to win that game. It was nice to see the Lions put together a full team effort for once. That was the best the offense has looked in over a month.

The season is officially over but there were some good things to come out of this season. Second-year linebacker Jarrad Davis has been outstanding this year. Davis will be a key part of this defense for years to come. Rookie Safety Tracy Walker has shown a lot of promise and there's a good chance he will be the starting Safety for this defense. Kenny Golladay went for over 1,000 yards receiving this year. If he can remain healthy there is no reason he can't do that every season. Then there is rookie running back Kerryon Johnson. Johnson has the making of an every down back and looks like he could be the guy to turn around the Lions rushing woes.

Nobody wants the football season to be over, but I'm so excited to get into this offseason. It sounds like offensive coordinator, Jim Bob Cooter will not be on the coaching staff for 2019. The Lions will also have a top 10 pick from the looks of it. They also have plenty of money to spend on free agents. So this team may look completely different by the time training camp rolls around. Yes, the season is over and the Lions aren't in the playoffs. But if you are a Lions fan you should definitely be excited for the direction of this team.

Mike's fun fact of the day: Today was the Lions 4th consecutive 30+ point game against the Packers! With the win today that will extend the Lions winning streak against Green Bay to four wins.

Mike's second fun fact of the day: That was the first shutout at Lambeau field since 1970. Great way to end the season.

Until next time, One Pride
