Broncos vs Chiefs

Broncos vs Chiefs – Pre Game

It’s week 8 and it’s another AFC West rivalry game. This is the second matchup against the Chiefs. Last time was in Denver and the Broncos lost a very close game. The Chiefs still look like a very strong team on offense. The Broncos are coming off a very dominant win against the Cardinals. Hopefully, the Broncos can keep the momentum going and snatch a win in enemy territory.

On offense, the Broncos need to get the run game going early. They will be without Royce Freeman who has an ankle injury. That means that Phillip Lindsay and Devontae Booker will be sharing the workload. Case Keenum will need to challenge the Chiefs secondary and put Emmanuel Sanders into work starting strong on the first opening drive. Denver’s offensive line will need to hold up against a good pass rushing effort by the Chiefs.

Denver’s defense had such an impressive turnaround from week six to week seven. They had multiple sacks, fumbles and interceptions and two pick sixes. The No-Fly-Zone needs to not be scared and needs to challenge this young offense. They need to not back down against quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The biggest part of the puzzle is rushing the quarterback every single play. The team needs to sack him early and often. Von Miller needs to make his presence felt and make a big impact on the game. Last time these two teams met he was almost a non-factor.

In the Broncos can do all these things right while limiting their mistakes, then it is very possible that they could snag the win against this very strong Chiefs team. However, they are on the road and are going into the loudest stadium in the NFL. So the odds are not in their favor. However, this team likes playing with a chip on their shoulder and likes being the underdogs. Good things happen when they do. Kickoff is at 11 am MT (12 pm CT) in Kansas City.

Until next time, Keep Calm and Bronco On!

My passion is the NFL. Particularly the Denver Broncos. I was born into a Broncos family and have followed them since I was 3 years old when I met John Elway. I have made football and the Broncos a large part of my life. I love everything about the game.
