It’s Official-Bears Blewitt

Bears Sign Former Pitt Kicker

Another recent tryout leads to another kicker, Chris Blewitt. Blewitt has zero NFL experience but starred at the University of Pittsburgh for four seasons. He may be remembered best for converting the 48-yard game-winning field goal against the No. 2 ranked Clemson in 2016. The Tigers went on to defeat Alabama that season for the national title with one blemish on their record.

He left Pitt as the career scoring leader with 363 points while converting 69.6 percent of his field goals. He and former Tulane PK Redford Jones add to an ongoing competition to replace failed attempt, Cody Parkey. Let’s hope he is better than his name suggests.

The details of the contract have yet to be disclosed.

Until next time, stay thirsty and BEAR DOWN! JT out.
